“My Sunshine Day has been absolutely life-changing for our children. From day one, the level of care and attention they received exceeded all our expectations. The staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child’s well-being. What stood out to us immediately was the one-on-one support provided not just by their room teachers, but by the entire management team.”

Why families choose us
What our parents say makes the difference
It comes down to how settled a child feels, how much they're known by the people caring for them, and how close you stay to their day, whoever's picking them up.
01A love of learning that lasts Learning shaped around each child and their family
Every child follows their own learning journey, built around their interests at home and the stage they're at, so curiosity, imagination, resilience and confidence grow naturally. Learning is a real partnership between our team and your family, and children leave us school-ready, with a love of learning that goes with them.
02Rooted in Mortlake and Barnes Daily adventures beyond the nursery gate
Children head out every day to explore their neighbourhood, from Mortlake Green and the riverside to Barnes Common, discovering the world beyond the nursery with friends and familiar faces. It builds confidence, curiosity and a real sense of belonging to their community.
03Built around your family Open early, late, and almost all year
Fees are all-inclusive, covering milk, nappies, wipes, meals and activities, so there are no hidden extras to budget for. The nursery opens 8am to 6pm, 51 weeks a year, with an early 7.30am drop-off and late pick-up to 6.30pm, and the Famly app keeps you in touch with photos, updates and progress reports from your child's key person through the day.

What local parents say
Nothing tells you more about a nursery than the families who are already there.
“My partner's and my experience of My Sunshine Day Nursery has always been exceptional. I now have my second daughter at the Mortlake Nursery and could not have chosen a better environment for her. The team is dedicated, caring, and always has the welfare of my child and all the other children at the heart of all that they do daily.”
“I can't tell you how delighted my husband and I are with My Sunshine. There are so many excellent things about the nursery but the thing we like most is that they really care about all the children. As a result our son is happy and confident and genuinely looks forward to going to nursery. When we are at work it's incredibly comforting to know that he's being well looked after. Another thing that really stands out is the huge range of activities the children are involved in.”

Things parents ask us
Common questions
Getting started
My Sunshine has been family-run in Mortlake since Mike, Penny and Harriet took over in 2018, and the team includes staff who have been with the nursery for 8 years, so children are known well over time. In-house chefs prepare freshly cooked meals each day, and children enjoy a wide range of extras beyond the EYFS including French lessons, music and dance, ballet, sports and drama-led imagination play.
We have two nurseries: My Sunshine Mortlake at 35 Lower Richmond Road, SW14 7EZ, five minutes from Mortlake Station, and My Sunshine Barnes at 99 White Hart Lane, SW13 0JL, close to Barnes Common.
We welcome children from 3 months to 5 years old, supporting them right through to school readiness. Many families join us as babies and stay through to their Pre-School Graduation.
Pick a time that suits you on our Book a visit page and you'll get an instant confirmation. You'll see the rooms, meet the team and get a feel for daily life at Mortlake or Barnes.
Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, and availability changes regularly across our age groups. The best way to find out what's currently open is to get in touch or book a visit, and we'll talk you through current and upcoming spaces.
Fees and funding
Yes. Every 3 and 4 year old in England is entitled to 15 universal funded hours a week regardless of work status, and working families may also be eligible for 30 hours, including from when a child is 9 months old, subject to each parent earning at least the minimum wage equivalent of 16 hours a week and neither parent earning over £100,000. We stretch these funded hours across our 51 open weeks, so 15 hours becomes 11.18 hours a week and 30 hours becomes 22.36 hours a week, and our team can talk you through eligibility and the AfC Richmond code.
Our fees are all-inclusive, covering milk, nappies, wipes, freshly cooked meals and activities, and spread over the 51 weeks we're open. For babies and toddlers a full day is £131 when attending two days a week, or £120 a day for three to five days. Pre-school places start from £781 a month for two days. Funded hours bring this right down: three days of pre-school on 30 hours is about £305 a month, and on 15 hours about £752. We're happy to work out your exact figure.
Safeguarding
Both of our nurseries are rated Good by Ofsted. Mortlake was inspected in June 2022, when inspectors said children's behaviours and attitudes are exemplary, and Barnes in June 2023. You can read both reports on the Ofsted website.
